Street Seat Parklet

As part of New York City’s Department of Transportation Street Seat program, we designed a 70’ parklet in the space formally used as parking along 37th Street and 10th Ave in Manhattan. Using a mix of large round and rectangular planters we filled the edge of the space with tough trees and shrubs to create a sense of privacy and protection from the street traffic and added tables and chairs. Now a very popular lunch spot for local neighborhood workers and a quite green break spot.
